I consider ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to be the cornerstone of my practice and often get asked, "What exactly is ACT therapy?" Simply put, ACT is a novel therapy that focuses on examining our difficult thoughts and feelings in a way that accepts them as part of our natural brain's functioning. When we do this, we stop fighting with ourselves and become able to focus on fully living our lives. ACT acknowledges that life isn't easy and it never will be. It also acknowledges that we can live rich and meaningful lives through committed action in service of what's uniquely important to each of us. Here is a great article from Psychology Today that talks more about this exciting therapy: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapy-types/acceptance-and-commitment-therapy
